Kpando Heart of Lions picked their fifth consecutive draw of the season after holding Bibiani Goldstars to a pulsating 2-2 draw over last Monday in GPL match-day six.
The Lions exhibited a 'never give up' performance after coming from two goals down to secure a draw, thanks to two second half goals from Mustapha Yakubu and skipper Ebenezer Abban.
Speaking on StarTimes after the game, Heart of Lions coach Fatawu Salifu stated securing a draw at a venue like Bibiani is really good one and is very satisfied with the outcome.
“Well, knowing the kind of venue I’m picking this one point, I must say I am satisfied. At least lie I said earlier, it’s better than coming to lose. Of course, I’m very satisfied with the performance of my boys this evening.”
Heart of Lions are reported to have considered the Hohoe Stadium as their temporal grounds for now due to the recent unfortunate dam spillage in the Volta and are unable to use the WAFA Arena as it stands.
They will host Karela United in the next round of matches on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in the next round of matches.
