Hearts of Oak stop-gasp coach, Abdul Rahim Bashiru has availed himself for the club's vacant head coach role and strongly believes he is the right man for the job.

The young gaffer moved from the assistant position to takeover on interim basis following the jettisoning of his boss Martin Koopman in the middle of last month in what is mainly described as poor performance.

Abdul Rahim Bashiru, in the league, has led the Rainbow Club to four matches so far, having won and drawn a game each with the remaining two ending in defeats, with the recent one coming against their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko last Sunday.

They are currently on the 9th position on the league log with 16 points after 14 games.

Also, he led them to an embarrassing first round eviction from the FA Cup after losing 4-3 on penalties to 2011 champions Nania FC.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the enterprising tactician is very confident he can help turn things around in the capital and get the 'Phobians' back on track if he is handed the job on full-time basis.

"I sincerely hope to be appointed as Hearts of Oak's full-time head coach because, without a doubt, I am the coach with the ability to turn the team's fortunes around."

Hearts of Oak will play as guests to Nations FC in the next round of GPL matches on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
