Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has expressed his delight at finally having a full week of training with his squad—time he believes will significantly boost their preparation for Sunday’s clash with Hohoe United.
After a congested run of fixtures, Zito says the extended break has allowed the team to recover, refocus, and fine-tune their strategies ahead of the upcoming league encounter.
Kotoko enter the match on the back of a mixed run—three draws, one win, and one defeat in their last five games. According to Zito, the timing of the break could not have been better.
“I’m very happy,” he told Asante Kotoko TV. “When you look at the training, we are trying to manage and massage it well. I’m also happy the players have had rest. I designed the training programme to ensure they recover properly.”
Kotoko sit 5th on the league table with 21 points after 12 matches. With a full week of preparation behind them, the Porcupine Warriors hope to capitalize on the extra work when they visit the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday.
