Heart of Lions' goalkeepers coach Stephen Ahorlu believes his side's slow start to the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season is due to "inexperience".
Lions have accrued just five points from five games in the Ghana Premier League this season, although they are yet to play their match-week five game against Hearts of Oak which has been slated to come off on November 1, 2023.
Most recently the Kpando-based side drew 2-2 with Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun's Park. That draw leaves them five points adrift of leaders Nsoatreman already and Ahorlu is backing the Premier League returnees to turn the situation around amid their poor start in the campaign.
“What I Can say a little about our return is that most of our players are the whole set that we used in Division One," the former Ghana goalkeeper told Radio Gold Sports.
“We just have one player from Kotoku Royals who played last season in the premiership and even that player is injured.
“Most of them are from different clubs, first division players so you can see it is a little bit inexperience but as time goes on I hope things will be better.
“They are now seeing how the premier league is so as time goes on things will be changing," Ahorlu shared his optimism.
