Asante Kotoko have been left to merry with the return of midfielder Justice Blay from the treatment table after several months away.

The 28-year-old hard tackling midfielder went off late last season just before the end of the club's triumphant 2021/22 season for a twisting his knee.

The former Medeama SC star's return gives the club impetus in their quest to retaining the Premier League this season after awfully exiting the CAF Champions League three weeks ago.

The midfield department of Asante Kotoko will be further strengthened with Richmond Lamptey, who was reported to have started training with the club last week and the availability of Justice Blay.

New coach Seidu Zerbo will have plethora of options to select from in midfield, albeit a lot of players are still on the treatment table like Sheriff Mohammed who missed out majority of the second round of the last season and has since not recovered.

The Ghana Premier League is on a hiatus with a Human Rights Court Injunction placed on the league until October 14, 2022 when the case will be heard.

That will give Asante Kotoko ample time to integrate Justice Blay and Richmond Lamptey into the team as they will fight for their positions after a blistering performance from Richard Boadu and Enoch Morrison in midfield for the club.

Asante Kotoko will take on King Faisal FC in the next round of matches in the Ghana Premier League for Match Day Four at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium if the league resumes.
