The Ghana Premier League is only a wave of games old but already two coaches have lost their jobs. Hearts' Samuel Boadu was the first to be yanked followed by King Faisal's  Branko Bozovic.

In the absence of Samuel Boadu, the Hearts hierarchy named David Johnson Ocloo as the club's new assistant coach but was tasked to act as the head coach on an interim basis. In his first competitive game, Ocloo fell heavily to Mali's AS Real Bamako in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Rumours are rife that the hierarchy of the club are already getting itching feet, with a managerial change supposedly imminent. Below we take a look at a handful of managers who could land the vacant Hearts job.

Charles K. Akonnor

The former manager of the Black Stars is among those highly tipped to take over the vacant position at the club.

Having left the Black Stars after orchestrating a wonderful tenure at the helm, Akonnor is enjoying a well-earned break, but the former national star is sure to relish a chance to show his managerial abilities, should the Hearts job come up.

Akonnor will be making a return to the club he managed in 2012. Sadly, he lasted just eight months at the club.

Bismark Kobby Mensah

Since assuming the role of a manager at Karela United FC, Bismark Kobby Mensah has gained a reputation as one of the best tactical brains in the league.

Mensah, already an icon at Karela, clearly loves life at Anyinase but you get the sense that in order to make the next step up in his managerial career, he needs a spell with a one of the big boys in the division.

Hearts, despite their current position, have oceans of potential and now bags of cash so they should do everything in power to lure Mensah to the club.

The ever-positive Mensah boasts strong man-management skills and a preference for an attacking approach, which could be music to the ears of toothless Hearts’ struggling strike-force.

Annor Walker

Whenever a vacancy with one of the big names of Ghanaian football comes up, Annor Walker is always mentioned among the usual suspects. Now with league debutants, Samartex FC, Walker carved a niche for himself at Accra Great Olympics.

In a recent interview, Walker admitted that he's been contacted by officials of the Accra club. Annor Walker will be a popular choice to fill the vacant position if fans’ forums are to be believed.

Ernst Middendorp

The German trainer would simply take a nanosecond to say ‘yes’ should he be offered the position of a manager.

Currently working with South African side Maritzburg United as head coach, Middendorp would relish the opportunity to return to the club he coached in 2004.

Middendorp would not take lightly the decision to leave his current post but a return to Hearts is a possibility
