Didi Dramani has emphasised tactical discipline and decision-making as the key focus for Accra Hearts of Oak, rather than missed scoring opportunities, following their narrow 1-0 win over Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League
Hearts secured all three points at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex thanks to an early strike from Mawuli Wayo, but Dramani chose to highlight the tactical aspects of his team’s performance rather than their inefficiency in front of goal.
“I wasn’t angry about missed chances. That would suggest I don’t care, but I don’t speak about that,” he said. “I focus on the details, the small decisions—when to close space, when to step up, and when to keep pressure on the opponent.”
The Hearts coach further explained that his side is built on a structured, ball-and-space-oriented system rather than aggressive man-marking.
“We are a ball and space-oriented team. I don’t like to see players trying to man-mark outside the box instead of dealing with the ball and the space,” he added.
While acknowledging that certain aspects still need improvement, Dramani insists the issues are part of an ongoing development process rather than a major concern.
The victory strengthens Hearts of Oak’s position in the upper half of the table, but the coach’s comments underline his continued focus on refining tactical execution as the season approaches its decisive stages.
