Ernest Okyere, assistant coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, has expressed pride in his team’s performance despite their defeat to Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

In their Week 31 clash at the TnA Stadium, a brace from Salim Adams secured all three points for Medeama, strengthening their position in the title race.

Despite the result, Okyere insisted there were many positives to take from his side’s display, noting their progress as a team.

“Football is a 90-minute game, and whatever comes out of it, you need to accept and learn from it. Nothing went badly. My players proved we have revamped the team, and that impressed me a lot,” he said.

With four matches remaining in the season, the Gold Stars assistant coach remains optimistic that his side can still challenge for the league title.

“The league is not over. We have four matches to go. They are five points ahead of us. There are 12 points available, so it means it’s not over until it’s over. We need to go back and, on Wednesday, make amends and close the gap,” he added.

Gold Stars now turn their attention to their next fixture against FC Samartex at Duns Park, as the title race continues to intensify.
