Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has provided an assessment of his team's performance following their first three games in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to play their outstanding league match against Nsoatreman FC on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Currently, the record league holders have secured one victory and drawn two of their opening three matches. Over the weekend, Kotoko relinquished a one-goal lead in a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
The team initially took the lead just three minutes into the game with a goal from midfielder Michael Kyei. However, a late equalizer from Fuseini Zakaria denied them the chance to claim all three points.
After the match, Ogum acknowledged that the team is still a work in progress and urged fans to continue their support. "We’ve won one and drawn two in three games. So it's work in progress. The boys are doing well, so I will urge the fans to keep supporting the team, and I’m sure going forward we will give them what they want,” he stated.
With five points from three matches, Kotoko currently sits fifth in the Ghana Premier League standings. A win against Nsoatreman FC would significantly improve their position as they look to regain their dominance in the league.
