Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has ruled out the possibility of forward Joseph Esso featuring in their upcoming clash against Hearts of Oak in matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Still Believe lads are set to host Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, but Joseph Esso, who recently rejoined the club for a second stint, will not be part of the squad for the encounter.

Esso, who returned to Dreams FC after a spell in Algeria with MC Alger, has yet to reach the required level of readiness to play, according to Zito.

"Truth be told; I’m very happy we’ve able to sign another experienced player. Esso and John Antwi will enhance the squad," Zito commented on the acquisition of Esso.

However, despite training with the team on Tuesday, Esso's current fitness level does not meet Zito's expectations, prompting the decision to exclude him from the match against Hearts of Oak.

“He trained with us on Tuesday, and after a careful assessment, I realize he is not ready to play against Hearts of Oak. His readiness fell below my expectations so I will not include him” he added.

Esso had a successful spell with Dreams FC in the 2020/2021 season, scoring 11 goals before his departure to MC Alger.
