Ghana Premier League side, Karela United has entered the competition to secure the signature of former Asante Kotoko defender Maxwell Agyemang.
Agyemang is currently without a club after his contract with Asante Kotoko was terminated.
Since his release, the central defender has attracted interest from various Ghanaian top-flight clubs including Hearts of Oak who have initiated negotiations with the player, and now Karela United has joined the list of potential suitors.
RTU has also indicated their interest in the defender, who was deemed surplus to requirements at Asante Kotoko.
It has been confirmed that Karela United has formally approached Maxwell Agyemang for his services in preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 league season.
Although reports suggest that the 27-year-old is in negotiations with a foreign club, he might consider joining a domestic team if a move abroad does not materialize.
In 2021, Agyemang joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal from Wamanafo Mighty Royals in the Division One League.
Throughout his time with the team, Agyemang displayed his prowess with a series of commanding performances in the heart of Kotoko's defensive lineup.
Maxwell Agyemang played a role in Asante Kotoko's success in clinching the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title under the guidance of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Despite having one year left on his contract with the club, Maxwell Agyemang has been encouraged to embrace a new chapter in his professional journey.
