Mohammed Hamza Obeng will take charge of Asante Kotoko for the first time when they face Dreams FC in a very tricky GPL round 31 clash this weekend.
The newly appointed head coach becomes the third man to lead the Porcupine Warriors this season, following the recent the sacking of Karim and resignation of recent interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the fixture on the back of a three-game winless run, a situation Hamza will be eager to change as he begins his tenure.
Speaking ahead of his first assignment, the enterprising gaffer emphasized the need to build a cohesive team capable of delivering results consistently.
“The idea is to build a good team so that we can manage this game we are going game after game. I mean then try to adapt to whatever that we are doing at training and then try to implement all what we taught at training so that we try to win the matches as well,” he told AKSC Media.
“Well it is not a good image for the club as I said earlier we are trying to put everything together make sure we build in each department so that everything will be okay for us. We try to build one team it will be a collective play and for the team so that we try to manage and get results,” he added.
With pressure mounting and expectations high, Hamza will be hoping to inspire an immediate turnaround and guide Kotoko back to winning ways.
The game is slated for 15:00GMT (3:00pm) at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday, May 3.
