Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Owusu has delivered an update on forward Johnson Owusu ahead of their Week 28 Ghana Premier League fixture against Samartex, revealing the striker is still a doubt despite signs of recovery.
Speaking before Monday’s encounter, Owusu admitted the attacker is unlikely to feature, although his condition has improved in recent days.
“The chances of him coming back for the next game are not that huge, but we are waiting until tomorrow,” he told AKSC Media. “I met him in the physio room last night and he said there has been much improvement. He couldn’t lift his leg by itself before, but now he can do it very well.”
Asante Kotoko will host Samartex on April 6 as they aim to build momentum, having recorded two wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last five matches.
Their opponents, Samartex, arrive in Kumasi in poor form, managing three draws and two defeats in their previous five outings.
With both teams eager for points, the clash is expected to be keenly contested when it kicks off at 4:30 pm.
