Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has expressed strong belief in his team’s readiness ahead of their Ghana Premier League showdown with FC Samartex, insisting the Porcupine Warriors are full of confidence.

Kotoko earned a hard-fought point in their last outing against Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, and the coach believes that result has lifted the mood within the squad.

“I think the draw against Aduana FC boosted our morale going into the game against FC Samartex,” he told AKSC TV.

Looking ahead to the upcoming fixture, Owusu revealed that the team has focused heavily on sharpening their attacking play in training to improve their goal-scoring output.

“We’ve worked a lot on our scoring. The boys are still improving and getting better. We have some drills lined up for today and tomorrow to prepare them well for the game,” he explained.

The Kotoko boss also made a passionate appeal to supporters to turn up in large numbers and back the team.

“I’m asking the fans to come to the stadium. It’s Easter Monday, a holiday, so they should join us and complete their celebrations with us,” he added.

The Week 27 clash between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, April 6, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 pm.
