Asante Kotoko defender Michael Sefah is close to sealing a move to Togolese Premier League side AS OTR Lomé, with the transfer expected to be completed in the coming days.
According to sources, personal terms have already been agreed, with only a routine medical examination standing in the way of finalizing the deal.
Sefah, 29, has been part of Kotoko’s squad for the GHALCA Top 4 tournament and their pre-season training camp in Cape Coast, but looks set to bring his spell with the Porcupine Warriors to an end.
The versatile defender joined Kotoko from Port City Football Club last season on a one-and-a-half-year deal. Standing at 5ft 8in, he is comfortable playing as a centre-back or in a defensive midfield role. Before his move to Kotoko, Sefah featured for Liberty Professionals (now Hohoe United) and Medeama SC, where he gained valuable top-flight experience. He has built a reputation for his strength, composure, and tactical awareness, qualities that have made him a dependable option in Ghana’s domestic league.
For AS OTR Lomé, Sefah’s arrival is expected to be a major boost to their defensive line as they gear up for the new Togolese Premier League campaign. With continental competitions also on the horizon, the acquisition of a player with Kotoko experience is seen as a significant coup.
If the deal is completed, it will be Sefah’s first professional move abroad, presenting him with a fresh challenge after years of service in Ghana’s topflight.
