Ghana Premier League leaders Asante Kotoko have reportedly opened negotiations to sign highly-rated Ghanaian striker Elvis Bernard Addae from Niger Premier League champions AS FAN, according to media reports.

The 23-year-old forward has been one of the standout performers in West African football and has now emerged as a prime target for the Porcupine Warriors as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Addae is coming off a remarkable 2024/25 campaign, during which he scored 18 goals to spearhead AS FAN’s title-winning charge. His prolific form not only earned him widespread attention but also played a decisive role in securing the club’s qualification for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.

Currently sitting top of the Ghana Premier League with 30 points, Kotoko are keen to add more cutting edge in attack as they intensify their push for the league crown. The pursuit of Addae is viewed as a clear statement of intent by the Kumasi-based giants.

A return to Ghana would see Addae link up with one of the country’s most decorated clubs, offering him a platform to showcase his talent on a bigger domestic and continental stage.

Although discussions are said to be at an early stage, sources close to the negotiations suggest talks are progressing positively. If completed, the move would significantly bolster Kotoko’s attacking options and could go down as one of the most eye-catching signings of the January transfer window in Ghanaian football.
