Great Olympics' 2-0 victory over Kotoku Royals at the WAFA Park on Sunday has confirmed the latter team's relegation from the Ghana Premier League, dealing a severe blow to their survival hopes.

Isaac Mensah and Michael Osei scored the goals that sealed Kotoku Royals' fate in the 44th and 55th minutes, respectively.

Despite needing a win to stay in the top flight, the loss meant that Kotoku Royals are now 15 points away from safety on the league table, with just four matches left to play. Even if they win all their remaining matches, they cannot climb out of the relegation zone.

The relegation of Kotoku Royals is a major disappointment for the Eastern region's football community, who had hoped to see more of their local clubs compete in the top flight following the team's promotion last season.

Kotoku Royals must now shift their focus to rebuilding and preparing for the upcoming season in the second-tier league.
