Asante Kotoko interim coach Abdulai Gazale has placed the blame on Sheriff Mohammed for Gold Stars' equalizer scored by Abednego Tetteh during their 1-1 draw in Kumasi on Sunday.

Kotoko took the lead with a well-taken goal by Solomon Safo-Taylor, who received a well-placed pass from one of his teammates.

However, in the closing stages of the match, Gold Stars' efforts paid off when former Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh scored an equaliser in stoppage time to snatch an important point for the Miners.

In a post-match interview, Gazale believed Sheriff Mohammed did not perform well and should have closed the gap instead of moving back, which allowed the opponent to get a cross in the area and score the goal.

"Sheriff didn’t do well, he needed to close in the gap but he kept on moving back until the opponent got the cross in the area and it caused a goal"

The stalemate now leave the Reds at the 6th position on the league log with 44 points and will next take on relegated Kotoku Royals at Dawu.
