Caleb Amankwah, the Hearts of Oak defender whose contract has expired, has shared insights into his future with the club.
The 25-year-old joined the Phobians in 2021 from Aduana Stars and quickly became a crucial player for the team. He played a significant role in ending the club's trophy drought by winning the Ghana Premier League title in the 2020/21 season.
In an interview with Kessben FM, the former WAFA defender revealed that discussions regarding his future are underway between him and the club.
“At the moment, we are into negotiations with the club. Going as a free agent will be bad because the club has helped me a lot. So, we are engaging with the club to take the best of decisions” he said.
Amankwah made 24 appearances in the recently concluded season, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.
Since joining Hearts of Oak, he has won one Ghana Premier League title and two FA Cup titles with the club.
