Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities have terminated their contract with Yaw Acheampong, relieving him from his role as the club's head coach amid relegation struggles in the ongoing season's campaign.
Acheampong, who was appointed in January 2025 following the resignation of Paa Kwesi Fabian, has failed to live up to expectations as the Royals remain among the bottom three clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
The management of Legon Cities has decided to part ways with the former Ghana international after a series of poor results which has seen the club failing to pick a point in their last six games.
With just five matches to end the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season's campaign, the club has named former Young Apostles FC coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru, who once served as Legon Cities assistant coach, to take over the coaching job on an interim basis.
Legon Cities currently occupies 17th position on the Ghana Premier League log with 25 points after 29 games.
