The Board Chairman of Medeama SC, Dr. Tony Aubynn, believes that Ghana can improve the overall quality and competitiveness of its Premier League, making it a more attractive prospect for potential sponsors.
Speaking to Channel One TV, the renowned mining and petroleum sector expert, who was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), highlighted the untapped opportunities in Ghana's football hemisphere and the need for strategic reforms.
“If the league is not doing well, obviously we are not going to do well at the top, and I don’t think we should pin it on one or two people because they run a club," he said.
“They also have invested, so there is more to it than one person being singled out for the entire problem. I believe that we need to invest in football."
With Dr. Aubynn at the helm, Medeama won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2022-23 season.
