Ghana Premier League returnees, Heart of Lions were left frustrated by Asante Kotoko side in a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday night.

According to head coach, Fatawu Salifu who rose aloft the ranks to qualify the team back to the topflight after eight years in the wilderness cited his side's numerous unconverted chances against Kum-Apem.

Lions had close opportunities to bury the match, with 10 shirted Mustapha Yakubu scoring a rebound which was surprisingly flagged offside by the assistant referee.

“Well, I will say this is part of the game. Sometimes you play well; you create chances; you don’t get to use your chances especially, first game like this mostly looks very tough. So, of course, I would say it’s not, it’s just hard luck. It’s not inexperience," Salifu told StarTimes after the match.

Heart of Lions will host Great Olympics at Sogakope for their matchday-two fixture on Friday, September 22, 2023.
