Heart of Lions after that impressive display against giants Asante Kotoko last Sunday night in their return into the topflight, head coach Fatawu Salifu feels they couldn't live Kumasi with all three points because luck wasn't on their path.
The Lions held the Porcupine Warriors to a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in their opening fixture of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League on Sunday night.
The 'Kum Apem' lads were on top in the game and were really good at swinging passes among themselves and made some incursions but all proved futile.
However, Heart of Lions despite being very discipline and solid at the back, topped up with what looked like a very clean goal on the 64th minute through Mustafa Yakubu but mysteriously the assistant line one raised his flag for an offside.
In a post match interview, the enterprising gaffer admitted the first half was really a difficult one for them but believes they still had some chances they could have scored but couldn't make it count. He revealed on StarTimes;
“Well I’ll say this is part of the game. Sometimes you play well; you create chances; you don’t get to use your chances especially, first game like this mostly it looks very tough. So, of course, I would say it’s not, it’s just hard luck. It’s not inexperience.”
Heart of Lions will host Great Olympics in Sogakope on match day two of the new GPL season.
