FC Samartex 1996 greenhorn midfielder Michael Ephson expressed his elation with his first Ghana Premier League goal, scored in the Timber Giants' 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars on Sunday.
It took Ephson 33 minutes to net his first league goal and when asked about it after the match he mentioned: "I am so happy because it isn't easy making your debut. It is always tough. I thank God for making me help Samartex to claim a win.
"Already we knew Aduana Stars is an experienced side, and the only way we could toppled them was hard work and determination on the field to come out victorious," he added.
The exciting youngster also stated that although he is very excited with the goal, he is going to work hard to rack-in more goals in subsequent matches.
"Scoring on my debut gives me an exciting feeling. It's going to be a motivation for me, and I believe I will score more goals in the matches ahead," he added.
Samartex will face newbies Nations FC, hoping they can hang on to their winning start in their second-match of the season at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, Kumasi.
