Bright Adjei's second half goal was enough for Aduana Stars who narrowly edged Hearts of Oak by 1-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium in GPL week 13.
Coach Solomon Acheampong went into the game without his star player Isaac Mintah due to injury but skipper Sam Adams, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Frank Owusu, goalkeeper Yaw Ansah and experienced Bright Adjei all made the cut.
On the side of Hearts, last week hero Gideon Asante made the line up this time alongside inform Hamza Issah, Ibrahim Salifu, Eric Esso, Kelvin Asibey, with Richmond Ayi maintained in post.
Both teams started the game on a very cautious note as they all loved to keep the ball and maintain possession without any dangerous incursions.
However, it was an open encounter after 20 minutes where they all tried making some incursions with the host slightly ahead in terms of dominance but the first half produced no goal.
In the second half, Aduana Stars started on a different note this time, as they attacked right from onset of the opener.
On the 67th minute, Bright Adjei opened the scoring account for the homesters from a free kick. Ayi saw his decision and was going that way but took a wicked deflection to the other side.
Hearts of Oak in the final minutes also made lots of incursions but couldn't find the back of the net.
It finished 1-0 for Aduana Stars after full time who have gotten themselves back on winning ways to maintain top-spot.
