Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko recorded a commanding 4-1 victory over lower-tier side Adom FC in a friendly encounter at the Adako Jachie training ground on Thursday afternoon, as part of their preparations for the upcoming week 32 league clash against Bibiani Gold Stars.
The match provided head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team an opportunity to assess player sharpness and test tactical variations ahead of Sunday’s crucial fixture at the Dun’s Park on May 25, 2025.
Kotoko put on an efficient performance, finding the net through four different scorers. Defender Patrick Asiedu opened the scoring with a well-taken goal, setting the tone for what would become a dominant display by the Porcupine Warriors.
Striker Sampson Eduku, added his name to the scoresheet with a clinical finish to double Kotoko’s lead. Defender Samba O’niel then joined the attack and struck from close range to make it 3-0, showcasing his versatility and attacking instincts.
The rout was completed by Kwame Opoku, who continued his resurgence with another goal, underlining his return to form as the season nears its end.
Despite conceding a consolation goal to Adom FC, Kotoko controlled large portions of the game, with crisp passing, high pressing, and improved coordination across the field. The match also allowed several squad members to gain valuable minutes as competition for starting spots intensifies.
The result serves as a timely morale booster for the Porcupine Warriors, who are aiming to finish the season on a strong note. All attention now turns to their trip to Bibiani on Sunday, where they will face a tough Gold Stars side in a match that could prove crucial in shaping the final league standings.
