A lone strike from Emmanuel Boahene aided Victory Club Warriors to secure a victory over Aduana Stars in a pre-season friendly at Wenchi Methodist Park on Sunday afternoon.

Victory Club Warriors recorded a 1-0 win over Aduana Stars to intensify their preparations for the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League.

The much anticipated fixture saw an open act performance from the reigning Ghana Music Awards best rapper Derrick Sarfo Kantanka popularly known as Amerado, who thrilled the thousands of fans present at the Stadium.

The early minutes of the match looked balanced with both sides possessing the ball in the middle to entertain the fans, who had travelled all walk of life to witness the historic game at the Wenchi Methodist School Park.

The Wenchi based Division One League side enjoyed majority of final twenty minutes of the game which their impressive display eventually gave them the opener through Emmanuel Boahene.

Talented centre-forward Emmanuel Boahene gave Victory Club Warriors the lead in the 30th minute when he brilliantly slotted a well-placed pass from Hayford Boafo past Aduana Stars goalkeeper Yaw Ansah Fufro.

The intense pressure mounted on the two-time Ghana Premier League title holders by Victory Club Warriors forced coach Yaw Acheampong to make three substitutions which saw Fiifi Anderson, Benjamin Arthur and Bright Enchil replacing Shaibu Iddrisu, Emmanuel Obuobi and Derrick Afesson respectively.

Despite the late incursions from the upfront of Aduana Stars led by Isaac Mintah, Victory Club Warriors stood resolute at the back to end the first half with the 1-0 lead.

The second half of the game couldn't produce any additional goal despite the numerous goal glaring opportunities that fell for the two teams.

Coach Akakpo Patron's side were delight to watch with a five-star performance against the Dormaa based outfit which frustrated them despite the squad paraded including Zakaria Mumuni, Isaac Mintah, Benjamin Arthur, Shaibu Iddrisu and others.
