Nations FC head coach Frimpong Manso says his team must believe they can beat Medeama SC in their Matchday 21 Ghana Premier League game, even though the Yellow and Mauves are in good form.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s match at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Manso admitted Medeama are a quality and experienced side, but insisted that does not make them unbeatable.
“Medeama are a very good team and they had an excellent pre-season, including a tour to Abidjan. Looking at their current position, their squad remains intact and very experienced,” Manso said.
However, the Nations FC boss stressed that league matches are often decided by more than reputation.
“The league is a different challenge altogether. We have not lost at home this season. Despite the experience they bring, we are determined to go for a win in this match. It may look difficult, but we must believe in ourselves,” he said.
Nations FC have been strong at home this season, with several teams failing to take all three points at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Manso believes that home advantage could be key.
“We are not focusing on the opponent; we are focusing on where we are playing and how to take advantage of that,” he explained.
“This is our home ground, where we train every day, and we must make the best use of it.”
