He stated he is optimistic the current squad will keep getting better as the season progresses, promising the fans of an improved team in subsequent matches.

In an interview, Tanko particularly assured that the goal scoring problem facing the team will soon be over as he will take the team through rigorous goal scoring training sessions.

“It’s all about training. If you are not scoring as a team, you have to train to resolve it. It’s not only one striker struggling to score, almost all strikers are not scoring. So we will work on goalscoring and I’m sure they will start scoring soon” he said.

Medeama are currently 7th on the Ghana Premier League standings, accruing 29 points after 19 rounds of matches.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian top-flight was suspended following clashes between players, officials, and fans of Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Ghana FA, the decision is “aimed at creating space for the GFA to engage with relevant stakeholders and discuss the ramifications of the violence”.
