Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has admitted that his side’s 1-0 loss to Karela United on matchday three of the Ghana Premier League is a setback in their title push.
The defending champions slipped to their first defeat of the season after two straight wins, but Tanko insists the overall performance showed positives that can be built on.
“In terms of the results, definitely it’s a setback. But when you look at how we played in terms of possession and chance creation, it’s not a setback. We have finished that one, and we have to concentrate on our next game against Nations FC,” Tanko told Medi TV in a pre-match interview.
Medeama currently sit fourth on the table with six points from three games. Tanko has urged his players to quickly put the loss behind them and focus on bouncing back strongly in their next fixture.
The Yellow and Mauves will host Nations FC on Sunday, October 5, at the TnA Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3 pm.
