Medeama SC left-back Abdul Fatawu Hamidu was in action for the Black Stars for the first time against Liberia in an international friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
Fatawu Hamidu was handed starting berth by Chris Hughton in today's friendly against the lone stars of Liberia after receiving a late call-up to the Black Stars following absence of Abdul Baba Rahman due to injury.
The 24-year-old enjoyed the entire duration of the match in the team's 3-1 victory over Liberia.
After lack of goals in the first half, Ernest Nuamah and Kudus Mohammed found their names on the score sheet before substitute Jordan Ayew made it three for the Black Stars.
The Liberians grabbed the consolation goal through 17-year-old Divine Teah in the dying embers of the game.
Fatawu Hamidu joined Medeama SC on a free transfer after leaving Accra Lions in January 2023.
