Nations FC defender Razak Simpson has denied reports claiming he turned down a move to Asante Kotoko during the ongoing transfer window.

Simpson emerged as one of the top defenders in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season, where he was a standout performer for Nations FC, helping them secure a seventh-place finish in their debut season in the top flight.

The 26-year-old has become a top transfer target for several clubs, including Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, due to his impressive performances last season. Rumors had circulated that Simpson rejected an opportunity to join the Porcupine Warriors this summer.

However, in an interview with Kessben FM, Simpson refuted these claims and urged the public to disregard them. "Kotoko is a club every footballer would love to play for, so why would I decline such an opportunity? It’s never true I rejected Kotoko because of pressure," he said.

Nations FC have already begun preparations for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign, set to kick off next month.
