Nations FC assistant coach Johnson Smith has set his sights on the Ghana Premier League title, insisting the Abrankese-based side will challenge for the top gong in the 2025/26 season.
The club endured a frustrating end to last season, missing out on a historic title push after a three-point deduction stemming from their abandoned Week 33 fixture against Basake Holy Stars. Nations FC, who had finished second on 60 points, dropped to fifth place following the sanction.
Despite the setback, Smith remains confident that the club, which has impressed since its promotion two seasons ago, is ready to mount a serious challenge for the prestigious crown.

“No club wish to place bottom in the league. As in the case for every club, Nations FC will compete to finish on top of the table next season,” he told Kessben FM.
Nations FC debuted in the top flight with a seventh-place finish before following it up with fifth last season. With lessons learned, Smith believes the team is now poised to take the next step.
