Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has revealed that the most important component of a fans self-concept to support a club is to offer their unflinching support irrespective of results.
The respected traditional ruler and business mogul was addressing the negative comments and dealings of fans who are bent on bringing the name of the club into disrepute.
During the clubs Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Wednesday, Togbe stated that; “One of the biggest challenges of Accra Hearts of Oak is making sure the fans keep supporting because sometimes the negativity also hurts us.
“It hurts our ability to raise sponsorship and et cetera. Please let’s understand that football administration, coaching neither of them is an exact science.”
“When you are a genuine supporter, you have to understand these things (coaching success isn’t an exact science) and keep supporting," he concluded.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Phobians was well attended by fans of the club and in attendance also were board members - Frank Nelson, Ivy Heward-Mills, Vincent Sowah-Odotei and other chief whips of the club.
