Nigerian attacking midfielder Lawrence Dafe Egbei has begun training with Hearts of Oak as he looks to earn a move to the Accra-based giants.

The midfielder is currently under assessment by the Phobians’ technical team, who are closely evaluating his performances during training sessions. A final decision on a potential deal will be made based on whether Egbei satisfies the club’s tactical demands and physical requirements.

The ongoing transfer window, which opened on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, will close on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. GMT, leaving Hearts of Oak with a limited window to complete their recruitment plans.

Hearts are eager to reinforce their squad as they continue their push in the Ghana Premier League title race. While the Phobians have shown flashes of quality this season, inconsistency has hampered their progress, leaving them two points off the top of the table.

Bringing in an attacking midfielder could add much-needed creativity and balance in the final third, as Hearts of Oak seek to maintain momentum and mount a sustained challenge in the second half of the campaign.
