Nations FC head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso believes his side were unlucky to leave empty-handed after their narrow defeat to Vision FC in the Ghana Premier League, insisting his team did enough to earn at least a point.

Vision FC edged the Week 16 encounter with a 1-0 victory at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, thanks to a decisive first-half strike from teenage midfielder Setsofia Aqetey. The youngster marked his first goal for the club in style, producing a composed finish deep into first-half stoppage time to separate the two sides.

The result proved vital for Vision FC, ending a seven-match winless run and lifting the Tema-based side out of the relegation zone into 12th place with 18 points, just one behind their opponents on the table.

Despite the defeat, Nations FC enjoyed long spells of dominance and created several clear-cut chances but were once again let down by poor finishing — a trend that has continued to haunt them on the road this season. The Abrankese-based outfit remain without an away win in the current campaign.

Speaking after the match, a frustrated Frimpong Manso felt the result did not reflect the balance of play.

“We didn’t deserve to lose this game,” he said.
“We did enough to at least secure a draw, if not all three points. We created the chances but couldn’t convert them, and we were punished for that. Truthfully, we shouldn’t have lost this game.”

Nations FC currently sit 10th in the league standings and will be eager to return to winning ways when they host Karela United in their next Ghana Premier League fixture, as they look to strengthen their position heading into the second half of the season.
