Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of center-back Zakari Yakubu from first division side Swedru All Blacks in the ongoing transfer window.
The stalwart guardsman is joining the Rainbow Club and has signed a contract that keeps him in the capital until 2026 after a successful negotiations between the two clubs.
Hearts of Oak confirmed his capture on their social media handles and wrote;
"Our latest defender is from All Blacks and to him, it’s a dream come true. He signed a 4-year deal with the phobia family after passing his medicals. He is Zakari Yakubu."
He becomes the player Hearts of Oak have officially announced this morning after goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi and Cameroonian striker Junior Kaaba.
Yakubu’s standout attribute is his use of the ball. He passes crisply out of defence and is content to invite a bit of pressure from opponents if doing so helps open up an angle for a forward pass. If there is space available in front of him, he is more than happy to carry the ball into it.
He is expected to provide a healthy competition to help establish a formidable team for the 2022/23 football season.
