Legon Cities head coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin expressed his excitement following his team's 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

The match, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday night, marked Legon Cities' first win of the season and a significant achievement against a strong opponent.

Fabin's side set the tone early, with Albert Yeboah opening the scoring in the 22nd minute. Despite a strong start to the season for the Porcupine Warriors, they struggled to regain momentum. In the 76th minute, Kotoko's forward Albert Amoah equalized from the penalty spot, giving the visitors hope with just 14 minutes remaining.

However, in a thrilling finish, Abdul Rahman netted a stoppage-time goal, clinching maximum points for Legon Cities. "It’s a good feeling beating a team like Kotoko, and I thank God for that," Fabin remarked after the match.

The coach expressed optimism that this victory could serve as a turning point for his side, stating, "I told you from the beginning this game might be the turnaround, the turning point that we all need for us to kick off our campaign, so it’s a good victory for us."

Following this win, Legon Cities have risen from the bottom of the league table to the 17th position. They will face Young Apostles in their next match during matchday 9 of the league campaign.
