Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum remains confident that his team’s current run of narrow 1-0 victories will soon transform into more dominant, high-scoring performances.
Despite the slim margins, Ogum emphasized the positive takeaway from his squad’s ability to create numerous scoring opportunities.
Speaking after Kotoko's 1-0 win over Accra Lions, Ogum stated, "The team is playing well. Once we are creating the chances, I am very sure that going forward, they will start scoring more. Once they start finding the net consistently, they will gain their confidence."
He acknowledged the frustration of missed chances but highlighted the offensive potential: "It’s not ideal to create about 17 chances and only score one, but it’s also a good sign that the team is very attack-minded."
Kotoko’s latest victory came courtesy of a crucial second-half goal from Albert Amoah, who finished a precise cross from Dauda Saaka in the 48th minute at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. The result lifted Kotoko to the top of the league, level on points with Bibiani Goldstars but leading on goal difference.
Asante Kotoko will look to build on this momentum when they face Legon Cities in their next fixture, aiming to convert more chances into goals and maintain their strong form.
