Asante Kotoko is on the brink of completing a deal to sign former Great Olympics captain Razak Kasim, as they look to bolster their defensive midfield options ahead of the new season.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who recently became a free agent after parting ways with Great Olympics, has agreed to a two-year contract with the Porcupines pending a medical in Kumasi in the coming days.

According to sources, Kasim has chosen to join Kotoko over Hearts of Oak, who also made an offer for his services. The Black Galaxies midfielder featured in 30 matches for Great Olympics in the previous season, showcasing his versatility and talent in midfield.

With his signing, Kasim will join Kotoko's upcoming European pre-season tour later this month, and is expected to make a significant impact in the Ghana Premier League in the upcoming season. His arrival adds depth and experience to the team's midfield department.

The imminent signing marks the fourth addition to the Asante Kotoko squad this transfer window, following the signings of Sudanese duo Esmat Abdalhamid and AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman, as well as Emmanuel Antwi and Emmanuel Boahen.
