Ghana FA Cup champions Nsoatreman FC are contemplating on appointing former Black Stars gaffer Charles Kwabla Akonnor as their new head coach ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 'Efiri Tete Amanaso' outfit are looking to name the experienced gaffer to take over the vacant role in Nsoatre as they will soon begin to prepare for the crucial season ahead, following the exit of coach Maxwell Konadu.

The latter is set to join South African fold Black Leopards and this development has already been confirmed by the club's Chairman with Konadu expected to join them by the end of this week.

The former Black Stars assistant coach led the Green-Yellows to a top four finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season and defeated regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano FC to clinch the FA Cup in addition.

In his absence, reports state they have entered into negotiations with C.K Akonnor and are seriously pushing for his service for the vacant role and haven't had a response at the moment.

The 50-year-old has been out of action since his jettisoning as Black Stars head coach in 2021, and has so much experience and exposure in the Ghana Premier League having handled clubs like Sekondi Eleven Wise, Dreams FC, AshantiGold SC and the two giants; Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Nsoatreman FC will very soon resume for preseason and prepare for the upcoming season as they look very set and poised to represent the country in the next CAF Confederations Cup.
