In a dramatic turn of events, Asante Kotoko fans swarmed the Adako Jachie training grounds to disrupt the team's training session, demanding the immediate dismissal of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff on Tuesday.
The atmosphere was tense as the team arrived for their scheduled 3 p.m. training session, encountering a group of over 50 agitated supporters.
Initially, the fans barred every member of the team, including players and technical staff, from entering the training pitch. Despite efforts from club officials, led by Emmanuel Dasoberi, to pacify the crowd, the fans remained adamant, allowing only players onto the pitch.
Notably absent were head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and assistant coach David Ocloo, while certain staff members, including Burton Asare, Imoro, the team manager, and the goalkeeper's trainer, were prevented from disembarking the team bus.
The intervention of Nana Apinka, Kontomponiaferehene, along with other influential supporters, helped defuse the situation, with more than 20 supporters engaging in a dialogue. Despite their grievances, the supporters were urged to maintain peace and avoid any violent outbursts.
The fans made their stance clear, expressing their vehement opposition to Coach Ogum and his assistants' continued presence within the team.
Following a brief meeting between the players and Kontomponiaferehene on the pitch, the team dispersed, with discussions set to continue at the team's residence.
As tensions simmer and discussions unfold, the fate of Coach Ogum and his technical team hangs in the balance, amidst growing discontent among Asante Kotoko's passionate fanbase.
