Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has strongly endorsed midfielder Salim Adams for the Ghana Premier League Player of the Season award after a standout campaign that helped guide the club to the league title.
The 24-year-old has been one of the key figures in Medeama’s dominant 2025/26 season, contributing significantly from midfield as they secured the championship with one game still to play. The former Hearts of Oak player has scored 12 goals in 28 appearances, underlining his influence at both ends of the pitch.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Tanko insisted Adams’ performances have been among the best in the league and worthy of top individual recognition.
“Salim Adams deserves the Player of the Season award. If you look at the performance, every coach in Ghana can testify that there is no doubt he is outstanding,” he said.
Tanko also highlighted his long relationship with the midfielder, having worked with him at youth national team level, and praised his development in mentality and discipline.
“I have known him since his time in the U-17 national team. I have also taken him to U-23 tournaments, so I know his abilities very well. We know his strength, power and pace. He listened to advice and changed his attitude,” Tanko added.
Medeama will wrap up their league campaign with an away fixture against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
However, Adams will miss the final game after earning a call-up to the Ghana national team for the upcoming international friendly against Mexico.
