Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams says he is calm and fully focused ahead of his side’s Ghana Premier League encounter against Hearts of Oak, insisting the fixture carries no added pressure despite his past ties to the Phobians.

The former Hearts player is expected to feature when the two sides lock horns in Tarkwa, but Adams is treating the occasion as just another league game, placing emphasis on preparation, unity and home advantage rather than emotions.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Adams stressed that familiarity with his former club will not affect his mindset, noting that the atmosphere in Tarkwa gives Medeama an extra edge.

“Playing in Tarkwa is amazing. We have good supporters here and they make us feel at home. There is no pressure on me ahead of the Hearts of Oak game. I’m just going to meet old faces. I’m well motivated because of the squad we have,” he told Medeama TV.

Medeama head into the match in solid form, having recorded two wins and three draws in their last five league games. That steady run has boosted confidence within the camp and created a positive mood as the Mauve and Yellows prepare for another demanding test in the title race.

Medeama SC will host Hearts of Oak on January 4 at the TnA Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 pm.
