Hearts of Oak board member, Vincent Sowah Odotei says Samuel Boadu's performance couldn't inspire hope as he defends the clubs decision to fire him.

Hearts of Oak sacked Samuel Boadu after their stalemate with Asante Kotoko in the betPawa Premier League week 3 fixture.

Hearts of Oak had not won a single game in eight league games, stretching back to the 2021/22 season.

Hearts of Oak subsequently employed a new assistant coach, David Ocloo, who led them in the CAF Confederations Cup after they failed to appoint a new head coach.

Hearts of Oak were eliminated on 3:1 aggregate by Malian outfit AS Bamako.

Supporters berated the management for sacking proven Samuel Boaduz who won five trophies in two years at the club.

Indeed, some supporters carried and cheered Samuel Boadu at the Accra Sports Stadium after the defeat to AS Bamako on Sunday.

Vincent Sowah Odotei insists that Samuel Boadu's performance at the club didn't give hope for the future.

"Boadu came and did very well but you see out of 15 away matches we won only one. Our win on Sunday was the first win in about 10 matches and this were reasons we were not comfortable at the board level. Look, it got to a time he was not able to give us hope for the future," he said on Hot FM.
