Dutch international Memphis Depay has urged Asante Kotoko players to aim for victory against Bibiani GoldStars in their crucial Ghana Premier League encounter on Friday.
Depay, currently in Ghana for the Christmas holidays, took time off his schedule to visit Kotoko’s training grounds at Adako Jachie. The Corinthians forward shared words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of securing maximum points to stay competitive in the league.
“You guys need the three points to catch up with other teams in the league. I wish you all the best in tomorrow’s game,” Depay said. “My eyes are now on the team. Now, I’m involved, let’s get to the next level.”
The former Manchester United and Barcelona star is in Ghana to engage in several activities, including charity work, and has shown a keen interest in supporting Kotoko.
Asante Kotoko will host Bibiani GoldStars in matchday 15 of the domestic top-flight at the Baba Yara Stadium. The game promises to be an exciting showdown, with both teams eager to claim maximum points to bolster their title aspirations.
Kotoko currently sits 5th in the league standings with 24 points from 13 matches, while GoldStars occupy 2nd place with 27 points.
