Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has unveiled a strategic attacking approach designed to secure victory against Berekum Chelsea in their upcoming Ghana Premier League clash this weekend.
The Kumasi-based club is set to face Chelsea on Sunday for a crucial Week 4 encounter in the ongoing 2024/25 season.
In a pre-match interview, Coach Ogum emphasized the importance of exploiting the spaces behind Chelsea's defense to maximize scoring opportunities.
“Attacking-wise, we need to explore spaces behind their defense, and when the few chances come our way, we must try as much as possible to convert them,” Coach Ogum stated during a discussion with the club's media team.
He also highlighted the need for mental alertness throughout the match. “Psychologically, we need to stay very alert. We have to be focused, both with and without the ball. Any lapse in concentration could lead to us being punished," he cautioned.
On the tactical front, Ogum stressed the necessity of maintaining a compact formation, especially given Chelsea's aggressive style of play. "We must be very athletic and ensure we play safely at the back,” he added.
The highly anticipated match between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM at the Golden City Park, as both teams aim to secure vital points in the league standings.
