Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has expressed his satisfaction with the dedication and determination of his current squad, asserting that they are more committed than the team from last season.
Ouattara faced a challenging first season in charge, narrowly avoiding relegation with a crucial final-day win over Bechem United, which secured a 14th-place finish. The team accumulated 33 points, drawing 12 and losing 11 games throughout the campaign.
Ahead of the highly anticipated Super Clash against Kotoko, Ouattara was optimistic about his team’s performances and mindset this season.
"Every time, we are motivated, and this season, we’ve already faced some tough matches before Kotoko," Ouattara said. "We’ve been able to get points at difficult venues, which is an encouraging sign for us."
He added, "For the players and for me personally, the key is to play well first and foremost. We aim to either secure three points or bring home one point. And right now, we are ahead of Kotoko in the standings."
Hearts of Oak are in solid form heading into the Super Clash, having won three and drawn one of their last four games. They currently sit 6th on the league table with 19 points, just one point ahead of Kotoko, who are in 7th place.
The much-anticipated match will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
