Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has targeted a statement win against their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko this weekend despite admitting it won’t be an easy game.
The first Super-Clash of the season is set to happen this weekend when the two giants; Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko cross swords against each other in what will be a very fierce encounter
The game is highly-anticipated by the indigenous football fans as usual but this is even more due to the run both teams have had so far this season and the fact that they yet to taste defeat.
Hearts of Oak have four wins and four draws from their opening eight matches and are currently in second place and Asante Kotoko also have three wins and two drawn games with three pending fixtures.
The ‘Phobians’ in the build-up to the game won 1-2 away at Basake Holy Stars while the Porcupine Warriors thrashed Karela United by an emphatic 4-2 in Kumasi in a game they put a top-tier performance.
In an interview ahead of the game, Kwame Opare Addo derives motivation from the fact that the game is going to be played in the club’s birth month and has set sights on a statement win in the game.
"This Super Clash in Accra won’t be easy for Asante Kotoko. Accra Hearts of Oak is ready to make a strong statement at home”
"November, being the birth month of Accra Hearts of Oak, will have great significance in the upcoming Super Clash," he told Asempa FM in Accra,
The game is slated for 16:00GMT on Sunday, November 9, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
