Asante Kotoko defender Gilbalni O'Neil Ndongani Samba has expressed confidence in his team's ability to secure a win against Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Super Clash on Sunday, December 15.

The two historic rivals are set to face off at the Baba Yara Stadium in a Matchday 13 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Samba revealed the team’s readiness and their positive outlook for the highly anticipated encounter.

“We are focused and ready to play the match on Sunday. It’s a big match, but we are not under pressure. It’s normal to feel pressure, but for us, it’s positive pressure,” Samba said.

“For me, I always want to win. Just like the Democracy Cup, we will win on Sunday. I plead with our fans to continue supporting the team, and I promise, we are going to make it easy on Sunday.”

The Congolese center-back played a pivotal role in Kotoko's triumph over Hearts of Oak in the inaugural Democracy Cup in July 2024, earning the Man of the Match award for his standout performance.

Samba, 24, has been a key figure in Kotoko’s defense this season, making nine league appearances so far. He will aim to replicate his dominant form to help Kotoko claim victory in Kumasi on Sunday.

The match, scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM GMT, promises to be another thrilling chapter in the storied rivalry between Ghana’s two most successful clubs.
